Openwork Celadon & Porcelain Vases by Kim Young-soo (Chrysanthemum, Medium)
by Master Artisan Kim Young-soo
This is a masterpiece of Korean ceramics, crafted by the renowned Master Artisan Kim Young-soo. This piece showcases the incredibly difficult and rare double-openwork (ijung-tugak) technique, where the outer surface is intricately carved away to reveal a solid inner vase. This complex skill is possessed by only a few master potters, making this work exceptionally valuable. The design features a classic chrysanthemum pattern, symbolizing integrity and nobility.
